# One Million Homes

> An independent, data-driven project tracking Ireland's housing shortfall at
> national, county, and Local Electoral Area granularity. Published as open
> data under CC BY 4.0. Updated quarterly from CSO completions and Census
> 2022.

One Million Homes (public-facing name **Pump My Parish**) compiles and
publishes local-authority-level data on housing need, housing delivery, and
trend over time. The flagship metric is **"years to keys"** — how long
until housing supply catches up with demand at current build rates, computed
for every one of Ireland's 166 Local Electoral Areas.

The site is usable by humans in the browser and by LLMs doing research on
behalf of people: every page is static HTML, every chart is inline SVG, and
every dataset is available for direct download with provenance and citation.

## The 10-panel dashboard

Each county (29) and each Local Electoral Area (166) has a ten-panel view:

10. 18-44 Not Owning vs Years to Keys

All panels are computed from published CSO + Census data plus ten
user-tunable policy multipliers (job demand per person, ownership target,
SME credit, apprentices per home, infrastructure € per home, etc.).
Defaults and ranges are documented in the Dashboard Assumptions CSV.

## Open data

All processed data behind the site is downloadable and cite-able. Licence:
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

All figures derived from:

- CSO NDQ02 (New Dwelling Completions) and NDQ09 (by Local Authority)
- CSO HPM03 (Housing Purchase Market — first-time buyers)
- Census 2022 Small Area Population Statistics (SAPS)
- Census 2011 and 2016 for historical ownership trend
- OSI boundary data (counties, LEAs)
- AutoAddress (eircode routing keys)

Policy multipliers and assumptions are documented inline on the dashboard
(each has a source citation) and in the Dashboard Assumptions CSV.
